At Ruminant Revival, we are proud to support GB Calf Week 2026. The first weeks of a calf’s life set the course for everything that follows, and this GB Calf Week is a chance for the whole sector to share what works and keep raising the standard.
About GB Calf Week
Great British Calf Week runs from July 15th to 22nd 2026, led by AHDB and opening at the National Youngstock Conference in Birmingham on July 15th. This year’s theme is Smarter Starts: Making data-driven decisions about every calf, with a focus on how good information guides the everyday choices that shape youngstock performance. Events run throughout the week, online and on-farm, covering calf health, nutrition, and management.
Last years highlights
Last year, we took part with a series of vlogs exploring how data and management can reduce chemical crutches in calf rearing, presented by vet consultant, Ali Haggerty. Click here to revisit those vlogs, and learn more about using data for smarter calf care.
All our content is published here, and on our Linkedin page. In the meantime, why not stick around and find out more about us?
Great British Calf Week 2026
This year for Great British Calf Week we are hosting a webinar with Colin Mason on Monday the July 20th at 6.30pm. In The forgotten window – sustainable management of dairy calves after weaning, Colin Mason discusses sustainable dairy calf management post-weaning for Ruminant Revival.
The conversation will expand to cover the importance of careful management at this point, for healthy yields, antimicrobial stewardship, food security, and the ecosystems that livestock farms depend on.
What will you take away?
- A clearer understanding of why the first sixteen-week window is so consequential for lifetime performance.
- Practical insight into managing the diet transition from milk to solid feed.
- An evidence-based view on keeping calves growing and healthy at this stage, indoors and outdoors.
- Guidance on successfully transitioning calves onto grass.
The session will include an interactive Q&A with the audience.
